YXPlainIt Brings Big Sound to Durham, NC for the Ultimate “Day 1” Tour Kick-Off
Hot band of entertainment vets takes on Beyu Caffe for an evening of capital music genius
When YXPlainIt comes to town, the venues have to make room to hold all that sound. Luckily, Beyu Caffe is the place to host the blazing new group from Washington, D.C. The big three will have their time at downtown Durham’s hottest live performance venue on Saturday, November 18th with performing times at both 7 PM and 9 PM.
Prime-time entertainment is what listeners can expect from their explosive delivery of jazz fusion to the sensual adult contemporary soundscape that their audiences have come to love. All solid as solo artists, Antone “Chooky” Caldwell, Vohn “Mr. Higgz” Higginbotham and Chris “Biscuit” Bynum have experienced the Carolina’s in their 20+ years of touring and collaborating with artists such as Ledisi, Chrisette Michelle, Shirley Caesar and countless others. As a unit, the group released their first album “Day 1” this summer as the first part of an instillation of music that highlights their mantra and mission of “33 1/3” which signifies each of their contributing components: Bynum on the beats, Caldwell on the bass and Higginbotham taking care of the melody. This mosaic of elements make for some rare and profound artwork that listeners can see, hear and feel.
Powerful in their sound and visible with their instrumentation, being on stage becomes a chance for YXPlainIt to show themselves to be more than just musicians, but as true performers of the craft. Their performances transform the environment and by the request of their fans from the Triangle area, this desire for sensory satisfaction is just what brings YXPlainIt to showcase their debut work. Making their way to different stages along the East Coast as part of the official “Day 1” tour, Durham is particularly unique as the opportunity to have two shows in one night at Beyu puts them in front of a prime Saturday night audience of music lovers with an eclectic taste for superior live music experiences.
A star venue in the region, Beyu Caffe has become known for their four-part focus of being a coffee shop, restaurant, bar and jazz house and they stay booked with top artistry from across the nation.
