| SHAOLIN JAZZ – L!VE (Washington, DC) May 16, 2012 – In April of 2011, tastemaker Gerald Watson and DJ 2-Tone Jones released SHAOLIN JAZZ, a boutique music project in which a cappellas of rappers from legendary rap group – Wu-Tang Clan – were artfully blended with hand-picked instrumentals and samples from various jazz greats. Since then the project received overwhelming acclaim both stateside and globally; and has manifested into a variety of extensions based in visual art, fashion, graphic design and education. Watson and 2-Tone enjoyed great attendance at their SHAOLIN JAZZ DC Listening Party,SHAOLIN JAZZ NYC Listening party and SHAOLIN JAZZ Philadelphia Listening Party where tastemakers, artists and even politicians, gathered to listen to the sounds of Wu Tang over classic jazz instrumentals.On June 25th SHAOLIN JAZZ will go on to the next level of its evolution; a live performance of the music. The performance will be led by the co-creator and musical architect behind SHAOLIN JAZZ, DJ 2-Tone Jones. Backing Mr. Jones will be his fellow band members from Sound of the City.
On Tuesday, June 5, 2012 , SHAOLIN JAZZ will release a live version of SHAOLIN JAZZ – L!VE (2 song single featuring tracks from the original album) as a free download.
