[NEW MUSIC] SOUND OF THE CITY – “RUN”
Washington, D.C. band continues raise awareness with the release of a thought provoking and inspirational track.

Washington, D.C. (Friday, April 15, 2016) – When people who care have something important to say, it’s best to listen. “Run” is the latest track from Washington, D.C.’s Sound of the City, led by Chris “Biscuit” Bynum (drummer) and Precious Joubert (lead vocalist) who give a word of encouragement to those who have a dream and are fighting to stay the course.

“With this record, and all of our records, we hope to continue to bring timeless, classic music that are not just songs, but stories: important, relatable, and thought-provoking stories,” said Joubert.

While go-go music usually carries an energy that is highly developed with major drums and the echoes of native tongues etched throughout the beat, “Run” carries a different tune. The musicians at Sound of the City were influenced by various iconic artists during the creation of the underlying melody; adding the vocals to a soft and intrinsic tune that still upholds the true sound of the group.

“Run” aims to do what many songs in the music industry does not and that’s to uplift those who are striving to run away from the negative pressures of their environment as opposed to adding vices and thoughts that create obstacles for those who are trying to overcome whatever is in their path. The members of Sound of the City are not just musicians and vocalists, they represent a people who desire to be heard and continue to be the heartbeat of the nation’s capital.

“Life experience is the most important education you will ever receive,” said Joubert. “We want people to remember to find the lesson in each loss and use them as building blocks. It’s not over, until you are.”

Take a listen to “Run” and revel in the empowering message that continues to be the bullhorn for those represented by Sound of The City. For more information on “Run” and arrange an interview with Sound of the City, please send an inquiry to Desiree@DSElive.com.
