DSE Live Shoots Visuals for Sound of the City’s “Run” Music Video

A new year calls for a new line of vision and D.C.’s own Sound Of The City have delivered the visuals for what has become a very successful single. Debuting last spring, “Run” changed the tone for the season with a message of awareness about getting caught up in the fast life. The single has been available on the group’s Bandcamp page as members Precious Joubert (lead singer), Biscuit Bynum (drummer), Kenny Martin (percussionist) and DJ 2-Tone Jones each play a unique role in the sound and promotion of the track. Soulbounce.com exclusively debuted the video for “Run”, making it a major play for the lady running the set.

Desiree Samira, Creative Director of DSE Live, made her breakout appearance behind the lens as the lead videographer for the piece. Desiree, whose experience in event production and music marketing along with her work with SOTC made her an ideal candidate to shoot the piece, making her first cinematic work a great initial showcase. The video begins with a young man focused on a mission before taking off through the streets of D.C. As the song continues, a young lady appears in front of a mirror, in which she is then the focal point of the song. As she reaches a state of recognition, she hurriedly gathers her things and in haste, escapes from the desolation of her environment and runs into the night; a video cameo was made by guitarist Stanley Cooper. The intensity of the song paired with the emotionally-tugging scenes of the video make the visuals a timely capture of a meaningful single.

The band, whose sound is composed of R&B, Go-Go, Hip-Hop & Soul, continues to promote their latest EP Chasin’ My Dreams. Joubert wrote and co-produced “Run” along with Marcus Young. For more updates about Sound Of The City, visit their website.
